Vancouver needs little introduction. This spectacular city in British Columbia is a world-class tourist destination and is consistently rated one of the world's most livable cities.
Storyeum is located in the heart of Vancouver's historic Gastown. The lively section of Vancouver is home to cobble streets, hundred-year-old brick buildings and a diverse mix of people. It is a place where vintage fashion and antique shops are nestled between urban professional offices, chic cafes and First Nations art galleries. This funky, picturesque downtown neighbourhood is a short distance from cruise ship, floatplane, helicopter and public transportation terminals - bus, SkyTrain, SeaBus, West Coast Express - as well as many downtown hotels.
From downtown, Gastown begins at the northern foot of Richards Street where Water and Cordova Streets meet. From the east, Gastown starts at Maple Tree Square at Water and Carrall Streets. Watch for the landmark statue of "Gassy Jack" Deighton, founder for the Globe Saloon and settlement that came to be known as Gastown. Storyeum will be a short walk west along Water Street. Storyeum is within a half-block of Gastown's renowned steam clock on Water Street at Cambie.
